MCIS was established in 1911 for the purpose of encouraging the keeping, breeding and exhibiting of canaries of all breeds, and to co-operate with other canary societies so that together we all help to achieve these same objectives.

To-day we still pursue these same objectives and are actively involved in  making suggestions and setting agendas in co-operation with other Canary Societies, with the aim of promoting our passion for canaries, for the benefit of both new and established breeders alike.

MCIS therefore invites canary clubs and societies within Australia and overseas to communicate with us via this medium to establish friendships and dialogue to enable the exchanging of ideas and information to take place.

The information provided in the following pages is merely a small sample of the wealth of knowledge to be gained by becoming a member of our Society. Some other advantages are, admission  to our monthly meetings where you can mix and have discussion with some of the most experienced and respected canary breeders in Australia, receive a bi-monthly news letter  which includes topics of interest for canary fanciers, ability to purchase club identity rings for your birds, have your birds judged and assessed at our regular young stock shows, ( see calendar page ), and also enables you to participate in inter club shows and exhibitions including State and National Shows.

Annual Subscription :-     $25.00
